Animal Kingdom is a children's educational app. We are committed to protecting the privacy of children and families. This policy explains clearly what data is collected, by whom, and why.

1. Who We Are

2. App Overview

Animal Kingdom is an offline animal learning game for children ages 1–5. It runs on Android and does not require an internet connection for any core functionality. All game content, sounds, and progress are stored locally on the device.

3. Data We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect, transmit, or store:

Name, email address, or any personal identifier
Location data (precise or approximate)
Photos, camera, or microphone input
Contacts or calendar data
Financial or payment information
Device advertising ID for personalized advertising
Usage analytics or behavioral tracking
Crash reports to our own servers

4. Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The following data is saved on the device using Android local storage and never transmitted:

Animal sticker collection progress
Game completion status per habitat
Quiz scores
Milestone badge status
Daily play streak
App settings (volume, night mode, difficulty, read-aloud)

This data can be removed by clearing the app's data in Android Settings or uninstalling the app.

5. Advertising - Google AdMob

Animal Kingdom displays advertisements served by Google AdMob (Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA).

We have configured AdMob with child-directed treatment enabled, which means:

Personalized advertising is disabled
The Advertising ID is not used for ad targeting
Only non-personalized, contextual ads are shown
Ad content is restricted to G-rated (family-safe) material
Ads are tagged for users under the age of consent (COPPA / COPPA-equivalent)

Even with child-directed settings, Google's AdMob SDK may collect limited technical data as described in Google's own privacy policy. This includes:

6. Children's Privacy (COPPA)

Animal Kingdom is directed at children under the age of 13. We comply with the US Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and equivalent regulations worldwide.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13
No account creation is required or possible
Advertising is configured in child-directed mode (non-personalized)
There are no social features, chat functions, or user-generated content
There are no external links accessible from within the app

If you believe we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child, contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it promptly.

No analytics SDKs (Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, Amplitude, etc.) are included in this app.

8. Data Retention

All locally stored app data (progress, settings) is retained on the device until the user clears app data or uninstalls the app. We do not retain any data on external servers.

9. Security

Because we do not transmit personal data, there is no network data in transit from our side to protect. The app does not have its own backend servers. Local storage on Android is sandboxed per app by the OS.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the app is updated. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated accordingly. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
